Warning: Sometimes the script takes a long time to run, and it's very temperamental (as in: sometimes doesn't work at all). Some people get odd "referer" errors which won't let them double-translate anything.

What other people babble-ized.

Instructions For Use:
1) Enter a URL
2) Choose a Language
3) Press the "browse!" button

What is this?
This script will get world.altavista.com to translate a website from English into a foreign language, and then back again.
It tends to provide humorous results.

Who made it?
I, Keith Calder, wrote the script based upon an inspiration from an IRC channel I frequent (you know who you are). However, it couldn't exist without the brilliant and sometimes incomprehensible translations provided by world.altavista.com. Thanks AltaVista. Please don't make me take down the website.

I want to let people view a double-translation of my website
OK, that's cool. I'd like it if you mentioned how you did the double-translation. Which would probably mean providing a link to my site and to world.altavista.com. But it's really up to you. The url for the script is:
http://kcalder.com/babble/babble.php

You then have to provide a URL as variable 'u' and a language code as variable 'l'. It probably makes sense to send the 'l' variable first.
For example, to translate this page into Japanese and back, you would view the following url:
http://kcalder.com/babble/babble.php?l=ja&u=http://kcalder.com/babble/babble.php

Here are the available language codes.
Chinese zh
French fr
German de
Italian it
Japanese ja
Korean ko
Portuguese pt
Spanish es

Enjoy the translating fun!
